How logistics, freight and manufacturing companies in Doral, Hialeah and Medley get durable embroidered work shirts, caps and polos with no minimum order.
Custom embroidery Doral companies order looks different from the embroidery a law firm orders. Out by the airport the shirt has to survive a loading dock in August, a cap has to read from across a yard, and a polo has to look sharp at a customer counter after a hundred washes. Imperial Custom Apparel runs in house embroidery for freight forwarders, 3PLs, manufacturers and trade companies across Doral, Hialeah, Medley, Miami Lakes and Miami Springs from our shop in Hollywood, Florida, about 25 minutes up the Palmetto. No minimum order, polyester thread that holds its color, and a team that knows the difference between a dispatcher polo and a dock crew work shirt.
Why custom embroidery Doral logistics teams choose over printing
Doral is the warehouse district for Miami International Airport. Freight forwarders along NW 25th Street and NW 58th Street, customs brokers, air cargo handlers, perishables importers and the trucking companies that connect them all put people in front of customers and in front of each other all day. Those people wear a uniform because it makes the operation legible: who is dispatch, who is a driver, who belongs in the cage.
Embroidery wins for this kind of work for a few plain reasons:
- It lasts. Thread is stitched through the fabric, not sitting on top of it. A screen print on a work shirt cracks and fades under industrial laundering. A properly digitized polyester embroidery does not.
- It reads as a company, not a promotion. An embroidered left chest logo says the shirt belongs to a business. A printed tee says the shirt was handed out at an event.
- It works on heavy fabric. Twill work shirts, canvas jackets, structured caps and ripstop pants all take a needle well. They do not take DTG ink well at all.
If you also need lightweight event tees or a one off batch of printed shirts for a trade show at the Miami Airport Convention Center, we run direct to garment printing under the same roof and keep the embroidered caps and the printed tees as one job.
Hialeah and Medley: embroidery for manufacturing and the trades
Hialeah is still one of the most productive manufacturing zones in Florida. Along West 20th Avenue, the Hialeah Gardens industrial corridor and the Medley rail yards you find metal fabricators, food processors, cabinet shops, HVAC contractors, packaging plants, auto body shops and the parts distributors that feed them. These shops run shifts, so they buy work shirts in quantity and reorder when crews turn over.
What matters here is consistency across reorders. We digitize your logo once, keep the stitch file on record, and run the same file on every future batch. The new hire's shirt in March matches the foreman's shirt from last year.
What Hialeah shops usually order
- Short sleeve industrial work shirts with a left chest logo and a name on the right chest
- Long sleeve twill shirts for welders and fabricators who need coverage
- Structured caps with the company mark on the front for yard and delivery crews
- Safety vests with a small embroidered logo above the reflective tape
- Canvas jackets and softshells for the cold storage and refrigerated trucking crowd
Our team can help in English or Spanish, which matters when the person placing the order is the shop manager and not a marketing department.
Work shirts, caps and polos: matching the garment to the job
A warehouse operation usually has three groups of people who need three different garments. Getting this right saves money, because you are not putting a premium polo on someone who will shred it against a pallet rack by Friday.
| Role | Garment that works | Embroidery placement | Why |
|---|---|---|---|
| Dock crew, forklift operators, loaders | Twill or poly cotton industrial work shirt, hi vis tee or vest | Left chest logo 3 to 4 in, optional name right chest | Heavy fabric takes abuse; name embroidery survives where pins and badges do not |
| Drivers and yard | Structured cap plus work shirt or performance polo | Cap front 2 to 2.5 in tall, left chest on shirt | Cap is visible across a yard; polyester polo dries fast in a hot cab |
| Dispatch, customer counter, sales | Pique or performance polo, quarter zip for the office | Left chest logo, optional sleeve flag or tagline | Clean professional look for customers and carriers walking in |
| Management and visits to clients | Premium polo, softshell or quarter zip | Tonal left chest | Reads as the same company at a higher finish level |
We cover the shirt side in depth in embroidered polo shirts in Miami and the cap side in custom embroidered hats for South Florida.
Durable thread for daily wear and industrial laundering
Doral and Hialeah work shirts live a hard life. They get washed hot, often by a uniform laundry service, and they sit in a truck cab or on a dock in direct sun. Two decisions make the embroidery outlast the garment.
Polyester thread, not rayon
Rayon thread has a slightly softer sheen and shows up on fashion embroidery. Polyester thread is the industrial standard for a reason: it resists bleach, holds color through hot wash cycles, and does not break down under UV the way rayon can. Everything we stitch for workwear is polyester, matched as closely as the thread range allows to your PMS colors.
Density and underlay set for the fabric
A logo digitized for a soft polo will look wrong on heavy twill, and the reverse is also true. When we digitize for a work shirt we set the underlay and stitch density for the actual garment so the design does not pucker or sink. A typical left chest logo on a work shirt lands somewhere between 5,000 and 10,000 stitches. Stitch count drives machine time, and machine time is the main driver of what you pay, so a clean simple logo keeps costs down across every reorder.
What stitches well on a work shirt, and what does not
Logistics and trade company logos are often designed for the side of a truck or a website. Some elements need adjustment before they go on a shirt.
- Gradients and shadows cannot be sewn. We convert them to solid thread colors and the logo usually looks cleaner for it.
- Small text like a DOT number, a phone number or a slogan under the logo needs to be at least about 0.25 in tall to stay legible. Anything smaller fills in.
- Hairlines such as thin outlines around a globe or an airplane silhouette fill in or disappear. We thicken them or drop them.
- Wide logos that are long and skinny fit a left chest better than a full back. A back design on a heavy jacket is possible, and popular for drivers, but it is a different stitch count and a different quote.
Send whatever you have. A vector file is ideal, but a decent PNG or even a photo of an existing shirt is enough to start. The design guide covers file types and the cleanup thread requires.
Serving Miami Lakes, Miami Springs and the Palmetto corridor
Doral and Hialeah get the headlines, but the ring around them orders the same way. Miami Lakes has a corporate park full of insurance, healthcare administration and distribution headquarters that want polos and quarter zips. Miami Springs sits right against the airport and is home to hotel operators, car rental hubs and airline ground service companies that need caps, polos and name embroidered shirts. Medley is almost entirely industrial, with concrete, trucking and recycling operations that need the heaviest shirts we sell.
All of it is a short drive from our shop at 6411 Pembroke Rd in Hollywood, between Miami and Fort Lauderdale. Facility visits and sample pickup are by appointment, and plenty of our Doral customers swing by on the way up I-75 or the Turnpike. If you are buying for a company that also runs out of Brickell or downtown, our Coral Gables and Brickell embroidery guide covers the office side of the same program.
Custom embroidery Doral ordering, step by step
- Send your logo and a rough headcount. Tell us roles: how many dock, how many drivers, how many office. We will suggest garments for each.
- Get a per project quote. Pricing is driven by stitch count, garment, placement and quantity. The per piece cost falls as quantity rises, and there is no minimum, so a single sample to approve is fine.
- Approve a sewn sample or digital proof. We digitize your logo once and keep the file.
- Production in house on multi head commercial machines in Hollywood. Mixed orders stay one job.
- Pickup by appointment or shipping. We ship nationwide, which helps when the Doral office is buying for a satellite warehouse in Savannah or Laredo.
Larger programs run through our bulk and corporate orders page. If you are building a Miami wide program and want the broader picture first, start with our custom embroidery Miami guide, then come back to the embroidery service page when you are ready to send artwork.
Frequently asked questions
Where can I get custom embroidery near Doral, FL?
Imperial Custom Apparel handles the custom embroidery Doral businesses order in house at our shop in Hollywood, Florida, about 25 minutes away via the Palmetto or the Turnpike. We serve freight forwarders, 3PLs, manufacturers and trade companies across Doral, Hialeah, Medley, Miami Lakes and Miami Springs, with pickup by appointment or shipping to your warehouse.
Is there a minimum order for embroidered work shirts in Hialeah?
No. We have no minimum order, so a single sample shirt to approve is welcome. Most Hialeah shops start with a sample, then order by shift or by crew, and the per piece cost comes down as the quantity goes up.
Will embroidery hold up to industrial laundering and warehouse work?
Yes, when it is done with polyester thread and digitized for the fabric. Polyester thread resists bleach, hot water and sun, and because the design is stitched through the shirt rather than printed on top, it does not crack or peel the way a print does under heavy washing.
Can you embroider employee names on work shirts?
Yes. Names on the right chest are one of the most common requests from logistics and manufacturing companies in Doral and Hialeah. Text needs to be at least about 0.25 inches tall to stay legible, and we can add names to any quantity, including a single replacement shirt for a new hire.
Can you do embroidered caps and printed tees in the same order?
Yes. Embroidery, DTG printing, DTF transfers and screen printing all run in house at our Hollywood shop, so embroidered caps for the yard and printed tees for a safety event stay one job with one point of contact.
