How rush embroidery really works at an in house South Florida shop: digitizing, blank availability, machine scheduling, and what speeds a last minute job up.
Rush embroidery in Miami and Fort Lauderdale is a real service, not a marketing line, but it only works when the shop and the buyer both understand what actually takes time. Thread does not care about your deadline. Digitizing, garment availability, hooping and machine hours each have a floor, and a rush order is the process of removing every delay around those floors. This article explains how a fast job moves through our shop in Hollywood, Florida, what you can do to speed it up and which South Florida events fill our rush calendar every year. For the full range of garments and placements, see our in house embroidery page.
What "in house" means for a rush job
Many apparel sellers broker embroidery to a contract shop, which adds a shipment in each direction and a queue you cannot see. Our multi head machines are on site at 6411 Pembroke Rd, between Miami and Fort Lauderdale. When a rush comes in, the person quoting it can walk to the machine room and look at the schedule. Digitizing, sew out, production and packing happen in one building, and because DTG, DTF and screen printing are also in house, a mixed rush order of embroidered caps and printed tees stays one job on one timeline.
We do not promise day counts in an article, because every job has a different combination of logo, garment and quantity. Turnaround is quoted per job. What we can tell you is exactly where time goes, so you can take most of it out.
How a rush embroidery job actually moves
1. Artwork and digitizing come first
Nothing sews until the logo is a stitch file. A clean vector logo with no fine text can be digitized and test sewn quickly. A low resolution JPG with a gradient and a tagline needs redrawing, a conversation about what to drop and then digitizing. If we have embroidered your logo before, the file is on record and this step disappears. See how digitizing works for why this step cannot be skipped.
2. Garment availability
The second gate is blanks. South Florida is well served by apparel distributors with regional warehouses, so common caps, polos, quarter zips and bags in standard colors are usually available within a day or so. Unusual colors, extended sizes and premium brands may ship from out of state. On a rush, we check live inventory before quoting and will suggest an in stock alternative if your first choice would cost two days of waiting.
3. Approval
We send a sew out photo or a digital proof. On a rush order, this is where buyers lose the most time without realizing it. A proof that sits in an inbox overnight is a day gone. Have one decision maker ready to approve.
4. Machine scheduling
A multi head machine sews the same design on several garments at once. A left chest logo of 5,000 to 10,000 stitches takes a predictable number of minutes per cycle, so once the file and the blanks are here, production time is simple math. The schedule is the variable. Jobs are sequenced by deadline, and a rush is slotted around existing work rather than pushing other clients late.
5. Finishing, pickup or shipping
Trimming, inspection, folding and packing by size. Local clients pick up in Hollywood by appointment. Everything else ships from our shop, and nationwide shipping is available for the Miami company whose event is in Orlando or Las Vegas.
What speeds a rush job up
- Approved, embroidery ready artwork. Vector file, no gradients, text above 0.25 inch tall. Our logo preparation checklist gets you there before you call.
- A logo already on file with us. Reorders skip digitizing entirely. This is the single biggest reason companies with a standing uniform program get rush work done faster.
- In stock blanks. Standard caps, pique polos and performance polos in core colors. Flexibility on brand or exact shade saves days.
- One placement. Left chest or cap front. Every extra placement is another hooping cycle per piece.
- Fast decisions. Thread colors, sizes and approval handled the same day they are asked.
- A complete size breakdown up front. Changes to quantities after blanks are ordered restart the garment clock.
- Calling early. Even a heads up that an event is coming lets us check inventory and hold time on the machines before the order is final.
What slows a rush job down
- Artwork that needs redrawing, or a logo with fine detail that requires several rounds of simplification.
- Garments in colors or sizes that only one warehouse in the country has.
- Multiple placements, 3D puff or metallic thread, all of which add machine time per piece.
- Approvals routed through several people, or a proof that waits for a Monday meeting.
- Mid job changes: new names added, a color swap after thread is loaded, a second logo for one department.
- Personalization with individual names, which is a separate stitch file and setup per name.
None of these make a rush impossible. They make it longer, and we would rather tell you that on the quote than discover it on the machine.
The South Florida rush calendar
Certain weeks fill the schedule every year. If your business revolves around one of these, order before the week it starts.
| Event or season | Where | Typical rush items |
|---|---|---|
| Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show | Fort Lauderdale, late October | Crew polos, caps, quarter zips for brokers and yacht crews |
| Miami International Boat Show | Miami, February | Dealer and crew uniforms, embroidered caps |
| Art Basel and Miami Art Week | Miami Beach, Wynwood, Design District, December | Gallery and event staff polos, caps, totes for VIP gifting |
| Trade shows and conferences | Miami Beach Convention Center, Broward County Convention Center, Palm Beach County Convention Center | Booth staff polos, embroidered backpacks and totes |
| Golf and tennis tournaments, fishing tournaments | Doral, Palm Beach Gardens, Delray Beach, the Keys | Volunteer polos, caps, towels |
| Grand openings and store launches | Across Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach | Staff polos and aprons, often tonal embroidery |
| Hurricane recovery and storm season | Region wide, June through November | Work shirts and caps for roofing, tree, restoration and insurance adjuster crews |
| School and league season starts | Pembroke Pines, Miramar, Davie, Weston | Coach polos, staff caps, booster club gear |
Yacht crews in particular run on event dates. Our marine and yacht crew apparel post covers the fabrics and placements that hold up on deck. Hurricane recovery is the opposite case: no date on the calendar, then forty crews need identified shirts the same week. We keep that in mind every season.
Rush orders and quality
A rush order gets the same digitizing, the same sew out check and the same inspection as a six week order. Speed comes from removing waiting, not from skipping steps. The one thing we will not do is run production on an unapproved file to save a day, because a rejected run of sixty polos costs you the deadline and the blanks. Your approved stitch file goes on record like any other job, so when the same event comes around next year the reorder matches and the digitizing step is already done.
Local pickup from Hollywood, Florida
For a true last minute order, local pickup removes the final day. Our shop sits on Pembroke Rd in Hollywood, roughly midway between downtown Miami and downtown Fort Lauderdale, a short drive from I-95, the Turnpike and the Hard Rock area. Clients from Aventura, Miramar, Pembroke Pines, Davie and Dania Beach routinely collect orders on the way to their event. Pickup and facility visits are by appointment so your order is boxed and ready when you arrive. For everyone else, we ship nationwide.

Frequently asked questions
How fast can I get rush embroidery in Miami?
It depends on the logo, the garment and the quantity, so turnaround is quoted per job rather than promised in advance. A logo already on file, in stock blanks and one placement are the three things that make the fastest timelines possible. Contact us as early as you can, even before the order is final.
Do you offer same week embroidery in Fort Lauderdale and South Florida?
Often, yes, when artwork is approved quickly and the garments are available from regional distributors. Everything runs in house at our shop in Hollywood, Florida, between Miami and Fort Lauderdale, which removes the shipping delays a broker adds. Send your in hand date with your request and we will confirm what is realistic.
Can you embroider hats and polos last minute for an event or trade show?
Yes. Structured caps and pique or performance polos in core colors are usually stocked regionally, and a left chest or cap front logo is a single hooping per piece. Have a decision maker ready to approve the sew out the same day and the job moves straight to the machines.
What is a typical embroidery turnaround time?
Turnaround is set by digitizing, garment availability, approval and machine scheduling. Standard orders have comfortable timelines; rush orders compress the waiting between those steps rather than skipping them. Every quote includes a turnaround for your specific order.
Can I pick up a rush embroidery order in Hollywood FL instead of shipping?
Yes. Local pickup from our shop at 6411 Pembroke Rd in Hollywood, Florida is by appointment and removes the final shipping day. Clients from Miami, Fort Lauderdale, Aventura, Pembroke Pines and Miramar routinely collect orders on the way to their event. We also ship nationwide.
